Who are AEGIS

AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) is an independent organisation which undertakes the inspection and accreditation of Guardianship Organisations (GOs) in the UK. To become a member of AEGIS, GOs must undergo a two-stage inspection process which includes the reviewal of their policies and procedures, as well as interviews with students, schools, and hosts. To achieve an accreditation, GOs must satisfy the inspectors that they meet the standards of their framework, especially in regard to safeguarding and child welfare. Once accredited, GOs will be re-inspected every three years and may attend trainings and conferences to keep them up to date on best practices.

Why is an AEGIS accreditation important?

Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of the students under our care. Therefore, we are proud of our status as an accredited member of AEGIS, which not only shows that we have met the standards and requirements of current safeguarding and child protection legislation for the care of overseas students in residence while studying in the UK, but also shows that we have achieved the highest standards of pastoral, social, cultural, and educational welfare for international students in the UK.
