Why ICON

ICON offers a level of care and communication that is second to none.

Guardianship is at the core of everything we do. Our first responsibility is to ensure that our students are safe and cared for. This is done by our team in the UK who works closely with our partner schools, hosts, parents, and the students themselves.



Our Student Liaison Officers are more than just a guardian. They are mentors to the students under their care who take an active interest in their progress and wellbeing. All are bilingual and speak the students’ native language in addition to fluent English, and all have been in the same position as our pupils as former overseas students themselves. Our staff are all trained in safeguarding and first aid and are available 24/7 to take emergency calls.



We also act as a seamless link between the parents and schools, who need to maintain an open line of communication which can be difficult with language barriers and time differences. Not only do our guardians attend parent evenings and visit students at their host family, we translate correspondence and give weekly updates to concerned mums and dads. Our parent area enables them to login to our website and check on the progress of their child, download translated school reports, and upload consent forms. If there is a new update, they will receive a text which notifies them.

Whether it is with students, parents, or schools, we like to make sure the channels of communication are kept open, and we are only ever a phone call away.
